Why We Crate Train

In my training program crate training is non-negotiable. The reason it is a must with no exceptions, in short, is not because I want your dog to live in a '“little prison!” I want it to be used correctly and only in knowing your dog is fulfilled in a way that a dog should be. Wholeheartedly, crating your dog helps solve and prevent problems in all facets of training and behavior and builds the ultimate bond between owners and dogs. I can list a few reasons to give you an idea of why it’s so valuable. Had I known these reasons prior to the day I brought my dog home maybe I wouldn’t have once struggled badly myself. Can’t say for sure, though- and not looking back on it either because it likely wouldn’t have taken me to this moment, right here!

• separation anxiety

•guidance and compliance when asked what not to do and what to do instead of the behavior

•on and off switch from excitement to relaxation

•prevents your puppy or dog from becoming destructive or over stimulated

•impulse control (your puppy or dog rushing up excitedly to greet others, running off without great recall.)
